True Love is effortless because it is the innate Intelligence of man and All beings.
The usual kind of love, the cultish ‘I love you’ variety, practiced by men and women of today, takes a great deal of effort and generally fails to establish anything Real in terms of lasting relationship. This is so because this kind of love is divisive in origin.
Most certainly, the usual love is not about Love at all. Let us not fool ourselves on this point; it is only saints and ‘realizers of Truth’ who enjoy a life where the True Intelligence of Love is expressed and lived. It is up to all individuals now to become saints and realizers of Truth, or at the very least begin to understand. It is everyone’s responsibility, not just the few ‘chosen’ ones, here or there, like in days of old.
All independent striving for a higher goal like love, covers up a deep insecurity within, manipulating every feeling and thought from birth to death. This hidden festering sore can not heal unless brought to the surface, and seen in the Light of Consciousness. If, however, one is continuously moved to avoid what must be faced and transcended, the human psyche remains trapped within a web of fear and avoidance. It is pure delusion to think that you can be free of fear by surviving physical extremes, declaring, “I have conquered my insecurity and fear!” The crippling power of the primal insecurity on the fundamental ‘functioning’ level must be understood and consciously released at the core, otherwise, how can one move beyond it and be Truly free?
Primal fear distorts and corrupts the living presence of effortless True Love. It transforms human behavior to an effortful striving for something else other than what Is. Fear is the reason why one exerts a continuous effort with every ‘action’, as every human ‘action’ is primarily opposed to what Is. What seems like an ordinary action has a fully reactive content. The human psyche is reactive in nature regarding its own mysterious subjective existence and the mysterious existence of all objective phenomena.
Not knowing who he or she is, except in relative symbolic terms, the egoic ‘I’ is primarily in conflict with its own existence. Humans are the only species with this problem. The ‘I’ is an unresolved mystery. Our inability to accept this mystery gives rise to insecurity and fear. These primal feelings make up the reactive content of the human spirit. Suppressing this unpleasant truth altogether, man has resorted to the obvious: exploitation of the outer objective world.
Such extensive exploitation requires a great deal of effort. The human species is driven to divide and conquer what is experienced as some separate, ‘other’ phenomenon. Natural effortless action and existence, the birthright of mankind is consequently squandered and rendered obsolete.
Adam’s paradise was one of no effort. He was in perfect harmony with Eve — the apparent opposite of himself — and in perfect harmony with the whole phenomenon of existence. There was no perception of opposites; he lived and enjoyed the natural Oneness of life with effortless ease. He was alive as Love. Only after ‘the Fall’ did he cognize separation and division, suddenly needing to use effort in order to exist. Existence or survival was never an issue in paradise. It only became an issue once the independent mind awoke and created other possibilities for itself, worshipping its own creations in preference to God or Love–Intelligence Itself.
Using thought and imagination to join the dots together and present an alternative dualistic structure in perception, the All-encompassing picture as it actually Is, became distorted and corrupted beyond recognition.
Why does such a possibility even arise?
Consider this: That which is God, Truth, Reality, Love or Divine Intelligence is All there Is. There is nothing else, but That.
Therefore, for life to occur at all, only that which appears to be less than God, Truth, Reality, Love or Divine Intelligence, can be manifested. There is nothing beyond Reality or God, and since God is non-divisive and hence non-creative in Essence, only an imaginary lesser possibility is left to play with.
Anything lesser than God must by its very nature be illusory, a reflective aspect of Divine Intelligence; yet, this reflective aspect, the whole spectrum of existence, is not and can never be less than or separate from, the Perfect Source that is God. Nevertheless, one can imagine, quite ‘successfully’, to be utterly separate and independent from (and be less) than Divine Intelligence Itself.
One can say that, within the context of some kind of mythology, God dreams the phenomenon of life and universe into existence; and the dreamer within God’s dream has the capacity to assume a self-conscious existence, experiencing himself to be other than the Divine Source.
As a natural consequence, when the dreamer attempts to love, it is but a shadow of that which is the Supreme Intelligence of Love, and as such has no capacity to actually function as a True life-positive principle, where no effort is required.
The only ‘solution’ is to resort to the Intelligence of Love as Is. This is what there is to re-cognize and understand.
